As a qualified teacher and coach, as well as a writer, I can present complex information, concepts and issues in a way that children and young people can understand.
I wrote extensively for Flipside magazine, the IET’s fantastic magazine for secondary school students. Including features on: wildlife, environment & natural history, forensic science, sports tech, DNA, VR, alternate realities, superhero science and tech, UFOs and space tech, James Bond stunts and much more.
I also contributed to E&T’s award-winning Lockdown Challenge series, which provided practical engineering and technology projects for kids to do with their parents, during the coronavirus pandemic.
I’ve written on educational subjects and issues and produced teaching resources for Scholastic, Mark Allen Education, Times Educational Supplement, School Sport, Questions Publishing, Sec Ed, Electronic Word and many others.
I’m also the author of Addressing Special Educational Needs and Disability in the Curriculum: PE and Sports (Addressing SEND in the Curriculum)
I have written extensively for UK Coaching on a variety of issues of relevance to sports coaches and PE teachers, such as: mavericks, life skills, sleep, mental health, biomechanics, scouting, head injuries, movement fundamentals.
